Warm herbal paste bandaged over a painful joint to relieve pain and swelling
A warm medicated paste is applied over the affected joint and bandaged, staying in place to work slowly on pain and swelling.
Traditionally used for
- Joint swelling
- Localised pain
- Sprain, once acute swelling has settled
When this therapy should not be done
- Fever or acute illness
- Immediately after a heavy meal
- Active skin infection at the site
Tell us about any of these at the consultation. We will suggest something else that suits you.
Before you come
- Eat lightly two hours before
- Wear or bring clothes you do not mind getting oil on
After the session
- Rest for 20–30 minutes
- Warm bath once the oil has settled
- Warm water through the day, no cold drinks
